Summer Hockey Camps

Penguins Training offers a variety of camps June through August 2025! Registration is now live! 

Goal Scoring Camp: June 9-13

Do you want to be a goal scorer or become more offensive-minded? This is the camp for you! Goal Scoring Camp includes two on-ice and one office session each day. This camp will help bring out the goal scorer in you. Whether you aspire to be like Kris Letang or Sidney Crosby this camp will help teach you the art of scoring goals and playing an offensive game from any position.

Hockey/Golf Camp: June and July

Players will have two hours of on-ice each day. Sessions will focus on: Power Skate/Over Speed Drills to develop quick feet & controlled edge work. Shooting Drills to develop proper weight transfer, accuracy & strong shooting habits. Skills Theme of the Day - Stickhandling, Passing, Controlled Body Contact, Competition & Game habits will be stressed throughout the week. Take your hockey skills and translate them over to the links with 90 minutes of golf lessons daily taught by PGA Professionals! All golf lessons will be held at Diamond Run Golf Club. Lessons will focus on: Proper grip, stance, posture, stafety, etiquette and self discipline. Full swing review, chipping, putting and rules of the game.

Little Rookies Academy: June 23-27

Join this special edition of Penguins Summer Academy. Players will receive 10 hours of on-ice training per week and 5 hours of dryland training. Players will also participate in fun recreation games through-out the week helping increase their agility, balance and overall coordination. Our dedicated, professional staff will provide great customer service making sure this is a summer camp experience players will remember for years to come.

Speed Camp: July 7-11

Speed Camp is an immersive deep-diving program focusing on not only the techniques behind speed, but also the science. This exclusive camp is geared toward the elite level athlete looking for an edge over the competition.

Defense Camp: July 14-18

Offense may win games, but defense wins championships. Learn what is being taught at the Division One College and Professional Level. From skills and strategy, to strength and conditioning, to mental toughness, nutrition, and recruiting insights. People who play hockey may have skills, but hockey players play all sides of the puck.

Forward Camp: July 14-18

Be an offensive force every time you touch the puck. Today’s forwards are dynamic skaters with superior puckhandling skills and possess creative offensive instincts. Forward Camp will focus on position specific skating, puckhandling, and passing skills and will introduce the offensive pattern recognition tactics for players to dominate their opponents.

Game Camp: July 21-25

We are excited to offer a unique summer training experience where athletes get to train like a pro. Players will participate in 2 games per day and will have professional video analysis. Video sessions will consist of game film review and will include footage from professional games to show high-level execution of situations and concepts from the athlete’s own games. Game film will be made available to parents and athletes following the conclusion of the camp.

Penguins Rinks Day Camp: July 28-Aug 1

Back for it's 10th year is the area's best summer camp. Open to ages last year Mite through PeeWee.

EXCEL Hockey Academy Boot Camp: July 28-Aug 1

If you’re not pushing yourself - you’re not getting better... Brush the dust off your skates, this isn’t your typical summer camp. Boot Camp is our high-intensity program designed to get you ready for the hockey season. Our professional coaches will take athletes through on-ice resistance, over speed, and sprint training sessions designed to maximize your potential in game scenarios. Each session is constructed to push athletes out of their comfort zone while having clear game application and improving their skills. Boot Camp includes two on-ice training sessions, one off ice workout, plus one body-maintenance session per day. Ready to push through to the next level?

Battle Camp: Aug 4-8

Hockey is a game of battles. Increase your body contact confidence and develop the killer instinct to compete and win more puck battles in every zone on the ice. Learn the battle skills of body positioning, stick angling, and on-ice awareness to gain the confidence to dominate your competition every shift.

Shoot to Score/Save the Shot Camp Aug 4-8

Each group limited to 16 skaters and 6 goalies Join our Skills Professional team and Director of Goaltending for the first camp of its kind at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. This camp will include an on-ice session focusing on game-simulated scoring opportunities for both players and goalies followed by an interactive video session. The on-ice session will also include skating and puck handling for both players and goalies. What makes this clinic unique is that our Skills Professionals will coach the players on scoring techniques and our Director of Goaltending will coach the players from the goalie’s perspective. Conversely, our Director of Goaltending will coach the goalies on making proper reads on the play, while our Skill Professionals coach the goalies from the player’s perspective.

Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy for Individuals Registered for Camps

  • If canceled within 45 days of the event, no refund will be issued
  • If canceled 46 to 90 days before the event, a 50% refund will be issued
  • If canceled more than 90 days before the event, a full refund will be issued minus the $150 non-refundable deposit

Cancellation Policy for Private/Small Group Sessions

  • If canceled more than 24 hours in advance, an account credit will be issued. 
  • If canceled less than 24 hours in advance, no refund will be issued and the full fee will be due. 

Cancellation Policy for Individuals Registered for Classes (multi-week training)

  • If canceled within 14 days of the class start, a 50% refund will be issued
  • If canceled more than 14 days before the class start, a full refund will be issued minus a $50 registration fee.
