Learn to Skate
The Penguins Skating Academy is proud to host Learn to Skate USA, the only learn to skate curriculum endorsed by USA Hockey. Our certified coaches offer year round classes with small ratios and interactive lesson plans for all levels. Register today for the class that best fits your skater's individual goals and let the fun begin while developing a strong skating foundation.
Classes are open to all skaters 3 years or older. Those younger than three may inquire about availability. All first time skaters should register for Snowplow Sam 1. If they meet the class standards they will be moved to the next class.
Registration
First, become a member of Learn to Skate USA. All participants must become a member of Learn to Skate USA annually.

Follow the steps to register your child and obtain your USA member number. There is a $17.25 fee for becoming a member which is good for 1 year.
Second, register for your Learn to Skate class.

Daytime Schedule - Weekday Waddlers
Join us for our daytime learn to skate program. After class enjoy a healthy snack from the Training Table or watch some hockey.

How to Register:

2.Add family members
3.Select a category on the left
- Register – Click here to register for any training sessions, multi-week, single day, camps, etc
- Leagues – 4 on 4 youth league, adult league, etc
- Drop-In Events – another way to search for date specific training, skating and skills training, public skate, etc
- Scroll to the date you are interested in training on to view available sessions
- Membership/Passes – to purchase a 6, 12 or 24 pass of skating and skills sessions
- Purchase the pass first - Click add pass, select participant at the top, then select your pass, once the pass is purchased
- Select classes to participate in and apply your pass at checkout

It's cold on the ice, don't forget to bundle up!
We recommended the following clothing to keep your child safe and warm!
- Hockey or bike helmet
- Snow pants/ snow suit or swishy pants - please no jeans as they are difficult to move it.
- Gloves
- High/thin socks
- Jacket
- Hockey equipment may be worn but is not required.
